SEPTA driver's family plans to sue over killing by police | Philadelphia ...

Relatives of a SEPTA bus driver shot dead by a Philadelphia police officer said Thursday evening that the man had done nothing to provoke deadly force last week, and that they planned to sue the city.

A 14th District officer shot Eric Crawley, 38, once in the chest as Crawley responded to his younger sister's call about a dispute with her boyfriend about 10:20 a.m. last Friday in the 7900 block of Rugby Street in the Stenton section.

Crawley had a gun, which he was licensed to carry, in a holster.

Lt. Raymond Evers, a police spokesman, said officers responding to the dispute warned Crawley not to pull his gun, but he removed it from his holster.

"They told him to drop it, and he did not," Evers said on the day of the shooting.

Crawley's mother, Rose, 62, told reporters Thursday evening in front of her son's house in the Cedarbrook section that he had not taken out his gun.

"I was right there," she said tearfully. "He stood right in front of me, and I was touching his arms just like that," she added, extending her arms in front of her. "He was calm. He never, never pulled a gun."

She collapsed and was helped away, but returned to elaborate.

"The cop stated, 'Don't touch your gun.' He had no - his hands was nowhere near the gun. I had my son's hands just like this," she said, this time demonstrating with a young man who stood in front of her.

A bullet whizzed by her ear and her son fell back, she said.

"His gun was in the holster when he was lying there," she said.

Family members said they wanted to clarify what they described as a coerced statement that Crawley's 18-year-old sister, Danielle, had given police. They said she had indicated that he had his gun drawn.

"They told her, frightened her, that she would be exposed to DHS [Department of Human Services], which would take her child from her," said Darryle Crawley Sr., 64, Eric Crawley's father.

"She would be stripped of her clothes if she didn't tell the truth, and placed in a cell and left there forever," he said police told Danielle Crawley. "And this child, being young and inexperienced, was frightened, and they coerced the whole interrogation."

Darryle Crawley Jr., 39, said it was not in his brother's character to pull a gun on police.

"We all know that Eric Crawley is not that type of guy," he said. "It's not about me standing out here stating that, oh, well, my brother was this, my brother was that, when I know he was something else. He wasn't that way.

SERIOUSLY? This is pathetic. Who gives a shit what the name of a clothing line is or is not. Or whether or not it uses correct punctuation. I think you all need to find something better to do with your lives than correct other peoples grammar, punctuation, etc. But it still does not really matter does it because number one Brooke Davis is not REAL (BIG shocker I know)and Sophia Bush probably makes more money than you will ever have!

Well, actually, in the show, Haley pointed that out to her, and Brooke said, “It’s my clothing line, I’m keeping the apostrophe!”

So, it’s not like it was a mistake made by the creator. It just gave it character, but not to make Brooke look dumb, either. It gave it her own personal touch; She wanted it that way, so that’s how it stayed. Brooke’s character is, afterall, bossy and always gets what she wants, am I right? Haha.

I don’t care, I loved it

Obviously you don’t love OTH enough if you don’t remember season 3. In season 3 Haley points out that there isn’t suppose to be an apostrophe. The conversation went and I quote..

HALEY: Yeah. Hey, I don’t think you need the apostrophe though, in Bro’s. It’s not really very grammatically correct.

BROOKE: It’s my fashion line and I’m keeping the apostrophe.

So I suggest you get your facts strait before you start nitpicking. And to the above post that said it was done because Brooke is stupid I believe that is incorrect. I think it just has to do with that’s how she wanted it!
