A German shepherd does his best to get out of a car at a local shopping center on a day when outside temperatures reached 102 degrees in Sacramento. The passenger window was partially rolled down.

According to Arden Fair Mall security, the car was parked at the center for an hour. Passersby alerted security to the situation.
However, by the time animal control officers arrived to investigate, the driver of the car had left.
The interior of vehicles gets even hotter than outside. Leave pets at home on a hot day, animal experts say.
